A new look for Home, projects and workspaces 🗂️

This release is mostly about a redesign of the screens outside the document, and another round of toolbar buttons that finally do something.

A redesigned Home, projects and workspaces 🗂️

Home, the project overview, the pages inside a project and your workspaces have all been rebuilt around a consistent set of cards, with a cleaner layout and clearer use of colour.

The project dashboard card now sits at the top of the project overview, so what you were last doing is the first thing you see.
Workspaces have their own cards showing the projects inside them, and can be renamed or deleted directly.
Draft items are tagged consistently wherever they appear.

Pinned projects in the sidebar 📌

Pin the projects you're in every day and they stay at the top of the sidebar, above the rest. The sidebar has been redesigned to match the new look, and now has a New Website option so you can add a website to a project without going through Home first.

Form fields in Word documents ✍️

Insert › Forms now works. One click inserts a real Word form field after your cursor — never over the text you've selected.

Text field, Date field and Checkbox.
Drop-down list… — type the choices, one per line.
Edit field… — for the field your cursor is in: tick a checkbox, choose a drop-down value, set a date, or remove the field and keep its text.
Lock fields — locks the field at the cursor so it can't be edited or deleted.

Save, reopen or open the file in Word and they're real form fields, with the values you set. Repeating section is still to come.

Bookmarks 🔖

Insert › Bookmark… opens a Word-style dialog: name the selected text and Add, or pick an existing bookmark and Go to or Delete. Names follow Word's rules, with the reason shown as you type if one won't do. Go to selects the bookmarked text and scrolls to it, however far away it is.

Pictures 🖼️

The Picture tab's remaining rows now work: Position, Flip, Crop, Size and Alt text. Each dialog opens with the picture's current values, so you're adjusting rather than starting from scratch. Rotate stays "Soon" for now.

Comments 💬

The four Review › Comments rows that said "Soon" now work. Resolve and Delete act on the comment selected in the sidebar, under your cursor, or inside your selection, and keep the document, the comment sidebar and the saved file in step. Previous and Next comment walk through open comments in order, wrap round at the ends, and don't mark the document unsaved.

Also fixed 🐛

Jumping around long documents. Previous/Next change, Previous/Next comment and Threads selected the right thing but often didn't scroll to it in long documents. They now take you there.
The toolbar menu no longer stays open behind a dialog, covering the page and blocking the scroll wheel. This applies to every toolbar dialog — Paragraph, Tab stops, Borders, Crop, Size, Alt text and Bookmark.
Cross-reference no longer lists Donna's own internal bookmarks as things you can reference.
