Auto-save comes to PDFs and spreadsheets 💾

This release is mostly about auto-save covering everything you have open, and about dark mode getting its colours back.

Auto-save, everywhere 💾

Auto-save only ever applied to Word documents. Turn it on with a PDF or a spreadsheet open and nothing was written to disk.

• PDFs and spreadsheets now save automatically when auto-save is on, the same as Word documents.

• The Auto-save toggle now sits in the PDF and spreadsheet ribbons, so you can see and change it without switching to a Word tab.

Colour in dark mode 🎨

Accent colours are back in dark mode — you can pick a colour theme and keep a dark background, instead of having to choose one or the other. The Appearance menu itself is now themed properly in dark mode too.

In the document

Word documents now open at 90% zoom, so a full page fits on screen without reaching for the zoom control.

Redesigned Settings page

Settings has a cleaner new layout that makes it easier to find and change your preferences.

Also fixed 🐛

• Some .docx files refused to open at all and came back blank. They now open normally.

• Windows: an "Uncaught Exception" error dialog appeared on every launch and every time you changed theme. Gone.
